NEW PHONE SCAM

Bank of Lee's Summit has been contacted by customers who have received fraudulent phone calls.

A generic call is being initiated by an automated system. Without stating a bank name, it tells the person answering the call that their card has been deactivated. Then, instructs the person receiving the call to press 1 and enter card or account information.

THIS CALL IS NOT FROM BANK OF LEE'S SUMMIT, NOR ANY OF OUR AFFILIATES. DO NOT enter your card information or any other bank account information. If you receive a phone call similar to this, HANG UP.

Please be assured that Bank of Lee's Summit's systems have NOT been compromised in any way. Messages like these are known as "phishing".

"Phishing" is the fraudulent process of criminals attempting to acquire sensitive information by masquerading as a trustworthy entity by sending an electronic communication, such as email or automated phone call. It is the criminal's hope that you will be tricked into following bogus instructions that will allow them to acquire your financial information.

If you have received such a call, have entered account/card information and/or have any other concerns, please contact our Customer Research Department at 816-524-8282.
